Kansas City Atheists Cultivate KC

Time: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 15

Location: Switzer Neighborhood Farm, Westside Community Garden, 20th Street and West Pennway, Kansas City, MO 64108

Join the Kansas City Atheist Coalition as we volunteer with Cultivate Kansas City to help local urban farmers beautify their gardens for the Fifth Biennial Urban Grown Farms & Gardens Tour.

Come prepared to do outdoor manual labor such as cutting grass, weeding gardens, turning mulch, sweeping sidewalks and other chores. We’ll be getting down and dirty, so feel free to either wear your sky-blue KCAC T-shirt or leave it at home if you’re worried about staining it.

KCAC Joins Zombie Walk for Hunger

Time: 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7

Location: 1701 Main St., Kansas City, MO in the Pitch Weekly newspaper’s parking lot

Join the Kansas City Atheist Coalition for the 10th semi-annual Kansas City Zombie Walk for Hunger. Bring five nonperishable food or hygiene items and meet us in the Pitch Weekly’s parking lot at 5 p.m. in your most gruesome zombie attire. We understand most people will not want to stain their sky-blue KCAC T-shirts with blood and gore, so we are not asking that people wear them. We will have special buttons for everyone to wear and hand out to others at the walk to show people we are with KCAC.

The Kansas City Zombie Walk is a grassroots charity event dedicated to gathering resources for people living in the Kansas City area who are experiencing hunger or homelessness. Now in its fifth year, the Kansas City Zombie Walk has gathered over 5,000 pounds of food for hungry people.

All food must be checked in by 5:45 p.m. The walk will start at 6 p.m.
